Manistee opens marina restrooms, provides water to people with frozen pipes

MANISTEE — Many volunteers spent time late Wednesday afternoon delivering clean water to people who have had their pipes freeze during this cold winter. The city is also opening its shower and restroom facilities at the Manistee Municipal Marina beginning today for use by people whose homes have frozen pipes.

Members of the city’s staff, city council, U.S. Coast Guard Station Manistee, the Oaks Correctional Facility and other volunteers gathered at Manistee’s DPW building late Wednesday to deliver water to homes of people who are known to be without water.
